The Art Institute of Chicago

The Art Institute of Chicago is the second largest art museum in the country and boasts one of the world’s most notable collections of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist art in its permanent collection. Its diverse holdings also include significant American art, Old Masters, European and American decorative arts, Asian art and modern and contemporary art.

In May of 2009, it opened the Modern Wing, designed by Pritzker-Prize-winning architect Renzo Piano. The building hosts the museum’s impressive collection of 20th and 21st century art.
